Default Observation between 1-2 shift --Automatic

Have had this situation for over a year now, and thought it time to question it.

2004 Coupe Auto. Only performance mods include Blackwing and GHL Bullet axle back. During moderate acceleration the exhaust tone sort of cuts out abruptly for a second when the trans shifts from 1-2. I can't say I noticed it with the OEM exhaust, so I've been wondering...was it there and I just didn't notice because the exhaust was too quiet (and the run flats were too loud LOL). Or is it that the better flowing exhaust has created more back pressure at the H-Pipe thus resulting in this effect?

I don't think I'm incorrect in also stating that the shifting nature of the trans will provide this effect too between gears. I'm probably posting this to help convince myself it is time to get an X-pipe or LT Headers!

Thats the torque management dropping ignition timing between shifts, With our $149 mail in tune special we can take care of that along with quicker shifts, more power, fan settings ac settings etc etc etc. Here's a link;

Adding headers or an x pipe will only amplify it, that said, I have new and used C5 X pipes in stock. $75 plus ship.

Interesting to read on your site. I wasn't expecting this response to my post, but I'm glad you did. I've always expected to get a tune some day when I was "done" modding. How does the mail in tune work if later I add the x-pipe or headers? Do I need a re-tune at the same price rate?

Also if I go with a new 160* thermostat, I'm not sure which to order. I have an '04 C5. The choices were '97-'03 Early C5, and '04-'08 C6? I'm assuming a technical error on the site and I would go with the '97-'03. There is a $20 price difference between them.

Thanks,

I give a reduced price ($100) for retunes, and the 03 is a split year. If your car was manufactured before November it's an early, after it's an 04. You can find the build date in the door.

We can provide the stat with the return of the PCM also.
