Same here. Drove 15 miles to track, did a couple of John Force burn outs (a spectator commented on what looked like a fire in the rear wheel wells!!!) and then ran a 1/2 dozen runs. Guess they do not need any breaking in! Ran a 1.72 60 ft. and a bunch of 1.8's.
Re: New BFG Drag Radials.............. (2001 Red Coupe Bandit)
Bandit, as many have told me (Vigilante owner's), it's what happens at the track that is important. I was real pleased with my dyno numbers this past weekend. Out on the street, the Vigilante is great. Under normal throttle, pretty much like the stock converter. Under ***** to the wall, watch out and hold on. We have tweaked the shift points and firmness and it is running the best it can now. Temps. are cool (never ever over 199 deg with outside temps of 100 plus on digital temp gauge in console. In fact, I drove the car to work last week and the temp gauge showed 112 at the start. Was 105 at the end of a 30 minutes drive home (street driving, no freeway). The tranny temp was 187 max. One thing that means I assume is that the TC is pretty efficient!
