I'm not worried about that. I am worried about getting the exposed unit wet or dirty and screwing up the system. I am driving it now without ABS with no problem.

I have a 99 and had the "death code" C1255 in my car. Drove it for over a year with the lights and messages. Really no issue driving the car without those aids. Not all cars have them anyways and people don't crash (well people that know how to drive ). My only choice was a used unit for that error. But a C1214 code should be fixable in a 97-2000 year C5. Little more involved to take the top board off which I think is why ABSFIXER doesn't do them (Just guessing). Just need to replace the relays which are right there once you get the board off. One other thing I have noticed on this board is that 97-2000 C5s don't usually throw that code. Usually the C1255 code is the one I see most of the time if it is a EBCM problem and not another part of the system, or grounds/wiring issues.

I wish mine was a C1214 code. I would of fixed it myself. This old one is now a paperweight.

If I could turn the lights and warnings off without fixing it, I would do it. I don't need traction control, active handling or ABS. The electronics on these cars is a disaster and GM engineers should be ashamed.

GM knew of all the problems 15 years ago and instead of giving support to Vette owners they screw them over by charging 1500 bucks to replace a factory defective module. One of many reasons I would never buy a new GM car or truck again.

So true. Every year, a new GM recall is announced. Latest one is for a delayed electronic switch. Now, where did we hear about ignition problem before?
I enjoy driving my Z06 but I should not have had to replace the valve springs and install an LMC5. The list of things that can go wrong on a C5 is too long. (Anyone thinking of buying a C5, please see sticky.)
This C5 is probably the only GM car I will ever buy. This company does not have the consumer's best interest at heart. Based on the past, it will do everything it can to delay, hide, obstruct and lie.*

08/22/2014 *Citing people familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal reports that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan are in the early stages of an investigation regarding whether employees tied to the company’s legal department contributed to the 11-year delay of the recall by hiding evidence of an issue.

It really is a shame. The C5 could have been a great car and a future classic. Instead of fixing problems, GM prayed that the defects would not show up until warranties expired so they could cash in on their shoddy work and poor engineering.

Default Just so I understand this

Chevy made over 100k 97-2000 Corvettes.. and they have no solution for the super annoying ABS and traction control lights and failure like I'm experiencing in my car? REALLY???

I spent 1,400 on a new EBCM last year. If it breaks again I'm not replacing it again.

Was that a dealer installation. How many hours did they charge for labor?

I have had this issue twice in six years. The culprit was a dirty ground tang. This connector is located next to the split in the AIR tubing beside the alternator. I simply unbolt the ground tang (connector) and clean the tang, and AIR hose clamp and also the stud.

Did you have the C1214 code? I cleaned that ground and still get the code.
