Default Will stock bottom end hold up?

In my sig you will see that on the bottle i'm currently at 440hp and 494tq. My question is, if i get heads/cams will this be too much for my stock bottom end? My local vette specialists seem to think so. I realize i would have to upgrade my clutch but besides that what would your opinions be?

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Wasn't there a post last week about a 9 sec C5 running stock bottom-end? I think you're fine.

I have seen 10.8:1 CR LS1 motors running 1 BAR+(14.7 Lbs boost) for extended periods. The question is and I work with two of the best juice guys in the country how does short bursts of nitrous compare to long shots of fresh intercooled air.I would guess at 15 Lbs of boost at 10.8:1 it would have to = a 12.9-14:1 CR, ( MAJOR GUESS). I have no Idea what the nitrous would yield nor you CR Ratio, cam profile etc it would take a hour or2 on the computer by Mike our engineer to give you a major educated GUESS and we even installing it wouldnt warranty it so I throw the dice at mid boost I throw down about 725rrwhp and 850rrwTqe.and thats around 12-13 Lbs I've also had it to 1.5 BAR and its to touqey to Dyno with 3 200 lb. men sitting on the rear but bottom end is closer to pro stock than stock. If it was my car and I could afford a new motor and other driveline components I myself not a written suggestion of XTREMES where more like an LPE and unless you want that power we like adding a bottom end that can hold it than we can issue 24/24 warranty on the car.
Have you considered a Super Charger at 6-8 Lbs of boost never replacing juice and always having power on tap even at 91 octane???? we also tune it so if you run race fuel 100+(actually 95 is plenty) we can add some advance and HP to your setup.
Hey for 7995.00 its turnkey with a beatiful new HI-Rise hood to boot and for 300.00 pesos you get a Magnason Warrantty for 36/36 to boot and Magnason has been around ALONG, LONG time, just some food for thought the install looks factory installed and on a stock LS1 will bump you about 120 rrwhp with total safety on a stock bottom end and there are ways after warranty is up to safely increase boost by 50%.Yours Truly Dave S. PS with the mods you already have in place the Super Charger would be 1 Smooooooth Ride and your horsepower Lb of boost ON your motor VS stock would flow a substantialy larger ammount of air per lb. of boost on a stock 5.7 you may flow upwards of 2x's the air per Lb. of boost I Know I would be honored to buid that monster for you.My conservative guess is at 6 lbs of boost it would be the air flow of a 12 Lb.Blower your 440 I would guess would be close to 750-825 HP and 850-880 Lbs of Tqe.,without ever filling a nitrous bottle every 4 runs.At the crank, somewhere in the area of a 10second car(hi 9's with slicks) it would be a super dependable 91 octane BEAST.Dave S.XTREME M.S.
