Default Harmonic Balancer and Tranny Fluid

The car is 03 A4 with 93k miles on her.

So, I have a slight oil leak from the front of the motor. I have tried to inspect the pan area and all others with nothing 100% sure of where the leak is from. Tricky oil leaks!!

I have done some research and see that the balancer is a very likely subject here. I am looking at replacing the balancer, transmission fluid, rear diff fluid, and belts...for those who have been in this area what else should be inspected/changed? Figured if I am ripping the stuff in front of the motor, why not.

TIA!

Many will say it, so I will be the first. Removing the damper will have you close to a cam swap. So now would be the time. You will also be able to easily replace the water pump and oil pump while doing that job. Belts may need changed too.

Nuke,
Belts are on the list...oil pump would be good to do along with timing chain . As for a cam...I thought about it, but removing the valves is where my I get a bit nervous about. I have done heavy mods on multiple vehicles, but removing the heads...yeah never look forward to it.

You're in luck! Valves don't have to be removed for a cam swap on an LS engine. You do have to remove the rockers. But once you do, you rotate the crank a few times and the lifters will seat up off the cam to allow it to be pulled.

Pretty easy to pop the seals off all the pulleys and repack.
