I bought a repaired HVAC control and need help on replaicing the part. I did not want to get into sodering it myself.... any help would be appreciated
I believe we will need a little more information.
1. You bought a 'repaired' HVAC control unit. - is the new unit operational?
2. If it is - all you should have to do is remove the old unit and plug in the new unit.
I will assume that the two units (your broken one and the repaired unit) are the same, in effect, both of the are digital or both of them are manual units. You can not change the unit type.
I googled HVAC replacement C5 for you. These VetteEssential instructions will guide you through it. Once you get the console/radio bezel off, stop, take out the two screws holding the HVAC, pull it out and unplug. Plug in the new one, put the two screws back in and reassemble.
I read it as he bought a repaired unit because he didn't want to solder his old one himself. And the title says, "replacing" so I'm sticking with that.
I have damaged and missing label on control panel. Everything seems to work okay, just cannot read several buttons. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
