Default B2723 code / intermittent no start

This is a continuing issue.
the code is B2723. I called the dealership - 2 hours labor, that is no problem... then to order the part. Parts man says get it diagnosed first - there are a number of issues that could cause this issue.
Then he tells me, I can take a new key lock cylinder to a lock/key store to reprogram. So here is my question. Can i just take the car to the locksmith and have them recode while the ignition cylinder is in the car. I am thinking that perhaps something has happened and the cylinder does not want to read the key every time.

Default ignition cylinder replacing :(

I did not receive any replies to my queary
are there instructions on how to replace the ignition cylinder?
I have it coded to our key and am now ready to remove old and replace.
Really not excited to take to dealer and pay them $180 if I can do this myself.

Thank you for the help... always appreciated.

Default B2723 code

I am truly hoping this code is the one telling me there is something wrong with the key ignition lock cylinder.
Are there photos showing the removal and replacement process?
If not, I will just take it the dealership and spend the $180 to have it replaced. I already have the part and it is ready to install...
Thank you in advance to those who are experts in this field.
