Does anyone know how the "memory seat" option works on newer cars? I was wondering if the memory is held in a microchip on the seat or switch or if it's actually routed through the computer. Installing 98 seats in my car and they came out of a car with this option. Thought it would be neat to get it working.
The memory locations are stored in the seat module under the seat.
Commands are sent from the door module to the seat module via the Class II network. The keyless entry module also sends commands to the seat module. You probably need to replace the driver door module and switches, so you can set and recall the memory positions. The wiring harness might also need to be changed.
I guess what i didn't make clear was the fact i'm swapping these seats into a 69 convertible. It's sounds like if i have the door and seat modules and harness with a 12volt supply, it could be possible. Thanks for your help!
Actually i was wondering about this too... i have a '00 and the only option not on there that i would really like is the memory seat. :nonod: Anyone have any more comments on how hard it would be to retrofit something like this???
