If you can handle the heat of what I'd predict would be a barrage of mixed emotion answers, you can post your main question on the C5 Forced Induction/Nitrous page. There's often a thread pending over there about the cost of turbo systems. Here's an example: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...=325495&page=1.
IMHO -- unfortunately, you're not going to get even close to a consensus on the Forum. There's just too much conflicting info out there. There will be naysayers and there will be people that just say go for it. I of course hope you do and it works out fantastically, rewarding you for trying and rewarding others who can jump on what sounds like an incredibly good price as compared to what is currently out there ($15k miniumum). On the other hand, if it roasts your engine, then I guess you're back to ground zero, with a lot of money down the tubes -- no pun intended.
There's also what sounds like a pretty big issue in getting the car tuned, since you didn't mention the NM place as having LS1 experience, and based on the tuning issues with the superchargers, it doesn't sound at all like tuning the LS1 with a blower is child's play. I have no clue, however, how tuning a TT (or single) compares to tuning a supercharger.

And that is precisely the key. Its not so much the loss of the money, its how much damage you inflict on your existing investment. It also could be a future cash cow.
If they don't use intercoolers that would be a big savings. Intercoolers on most cars are pretty much a waste of money when you are running low boost like 6 psi. Most are located in areas where there is not much flow even with air flow they won't help you until you get up to speed. So your average accelleration from zero to whatever it won't help.
It most certainly makes $5-6k sound like a possibility. Granted, it's not yet out or proven, but this is the first I've seen of a supporting vendor come out with prices that reasonable.
