Default dic buttons troubleshooting

I bought my 99 vette about a year ago and the dic buttons have never worked. I put it on my to do list. It will keep repeating the milage, low washer fluid, and service. Tpms. I found a set of buttons to to replace mine. I struggled for 40 mins and finally got the cluster out. I plugged the new buttons in and nothing. The new ones didn't work either. Should I be looking somewhere else to fix the buttons?

Looks like the IPC motherboard is bad. I have worked on several with the same issue and they were all fixed with a replacement IPC. It will require reprogramming the IPC for mileage.

If you have HUD make sure the IPC is a HUD one, they are not the same.

You can just swap out the board but it is what contains the mileage and reprograming is still required.

that is what I was afraid of. What's a decent price for a new ipc? And how much does it normally run to get the mileage programmed?

Most IPCs sell for around $200-$250. Dealer mileage programming may run you about $125. You may be able to find a shop that can do it for less.
