pop-up headlight problem

pop-up headlight problem
My front left headlight has had a problem the past few days. When the lights go down, the left one makes a really loud grinding/clicking sound after it's already down. It sounds like the headlight motor keeps going like the light wasn't all the way down but it is. Has anybody had this happen to them? What is it and how hard is it for a dealer to fix?

There are a ton of threads on this topic, do a search on "headlight" in the "archived topics" in the C5 Gen section.
The short answer is - you probably need your headlight actuator replaced.

I just did a post on this last week. Same exact thing happened to me. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the entire headlight assembly. Definitely a warranty repair. Take it to the dealer. :yesnod:
