Default return to stock pop up headlights

thinking about buying a 2000 corvette that someone has replaced the stock headlight system with fixed high intensity system. How much cost and trouble is it to find all the parts to get these headlights all back to factory original pop ups????

Probably 1000.00

Here's headlight assemblies on ebay 350-600.00 per side

Any possibility the original owner has the OE assemblies?

yeah, I know the chances are slim, but I'm one of those "freaks" who usually doesn't do any more mods than "bolt on", and I always keep the original parts....just in case.

Also remember, if you don't find a match in color with no damage you are now into having to paint the housings so plan on that cost also unless you can paint them yourself. Things can add up quickly.

If my car would have had fixed headlights I would have passed on it. Way too much green to return to stock.

thanks all. Trading with someone would be the least expensive way. Can get the car for $13,000 with 80,000 miles on it and in great shape but might just pass it up with the headlight change to deal with.

Bought mine with Depos on it and never really liked them.
Finally got around to switching back to stock this year.
Bought the parts used on the Forum and it took me a weekend to swap everything because I work slow.
You will regularly see full headlight sets for $350-$450 on here. Just be sure to ask if all the parts, including all of the small screws, are included in the sale.
Not really a big deal and not really expensive based on my experience.
Good luck in any case!
That sure seems like a great price if the car is in good shape!

Sorry to say that I swapped them locally for some other parts for my car.
I practically gave them away. Didn't think that anyone would really want them. I will say that they were great lights and really put out a lot of light. Just really wanted to go original. Good luck!!

Sorry
Brain Fart LOL!
Your post seems to indicate you want fixed lights to swap out the pop ups
while here you say you want to swap the fixed ones for pop ups so it's not clear.

Hmmmmmm.....I don't know. Sounds a little kinky to me!
If you buy the car and need to do the swap feel free to send me a PM for any help. I have 2 or 3 full sets of headlights from collecting stuff for my swap. If you're still in Daytona you can drive up one weekend and we'll swap out your lights and you can sell the fixed lights on the Forum. Folks are always looking for them.
Good luck and keep us posted!!

So it wasn't a brain fart since you are not the OP.
You ask should you trade with yourself which is confusing since the OP is looking for pop ups to replace his fixed lights and you want fixed lights to replace your pop ups but he didn't buy the car so the point is moot.

the guy sent me a link to a thread about me looking for a set of fixed head lights... and it wasn't a reply to the originator of the thread it was to someone who said they had just returned their c5 from fixed head lights to the oem and i had asked that person if he still had the fixed headlights that he took off his c5 and returned it back to stock!@#$%^
