Default Canton Overflow Installed

Very happy with the look and quality.
Seem liked it was going to be a 10 minute install and it could have been.

It seems very well made and with a little tweak it fit very well.

I would have liked it to have come with the bolts to mount it. Took longer to go to the store
to get longer bolts then it took to install everything. The factory ones are two short.

I would not mention the bolts if it wasn't for the larger issue.
I had to get out the grinder and cut a new notch in the lower mounting tab.
The notch they had was not just little off. It was almost a full half inch off.

It seems that if different year cars have that bolt in different location that they could have just
added two slots.

Having to cut that could make the install harder for some people. I had a grinder a few feet away.
So I simply cut a new notch. More if a surprise then an issue.

----------------------------

I am sure many people are going to say well you should have ordered the right one for my year.
I did, I triple checked. I knew before I bought it they made different ones for different years.
Summit had this one listed as the correct one for my 2000.

Hi there, I just did the same thing along with a Ron Davis radiator.

Are you seeing any coolant coming out of the open overflow pipe, just below the cap? I am seeing some coolant residue on the tank after running the car on the road, first thought was that I might have overfilled coolant a little when I installed it. Not sure if you are seeing any?

I never had this issue with the stock plastic tank.

Thanks!

I am hoping this is a shipping error rather than a fitment issue, since I have an old GM plastic tank with a predictable path and a shortage of handy grinders in my work area. Thanks for the info.

Yes, I saw coolant lines.
I also figure it was to full. I added a hose to direct where it goes and have not seen anything since.

Find a grinder... The last 5 people that bought these had to cut a new tab.

Just out of curiosity, where did you route the hose?
