Default What Blackwing model is this?

Hello...bought an SLP Blackwing online at a good price with no documentation or accessories.

It is brand new but im not too sure what model it is or what year Corvettes it will fit.

I have a 2002 Coupe and would rather not take everything apart to find out it does not fit my car.

Any identifiers on this unit to distinguish fitment.

Thanks in advance guys

Ray

Looks identical to the Blackwing on my 04. I plugged the AIR hole though, as I deleted mine.

I wasn't aware that have different ones for different cars.... Just be sure you plug the AIR tube into the hole and you should be good. It's fairly plug and play.

I tried to find the difference. I have one that I had on a '99 and had some installation instructions.

It does not show pictures of the differences, but it sounds like the early and late are the same part except for the rubber gasket at the inlet. On the older cars ('97-"00) the gasket is 3.5" and on the later cars ('01-'04) it is 4". The instructions just say to swap the gasket if you need to based on the year. On mine I was not sure where to measure the gasket on the ID or OD or steps in it, so I am not sure how to measure yours either.

If you compare the inlet sizes on your car and the Blackwing, you may be able to see if it will fit. It also may be something that you could adapt pretty easily if it is the wrong one.

Good luck.

Edit.

Found a couple links.

This one shows a picture of the two coulings/adapters.

This one describes the 3.5 vs 4 inch and says the later ones use a hose rather than a formed gasket.

MAF difference... Makes perfect sense. Completely forgot about that.

Lots of good info here..appreciate it!

I measured the opening on my Blackwing with the rubber adapter removed and it measures 4" diameter...the coupler kit that SLP sells for 2001-2004 cars says the coupler is 3.75"...guess it just stretches over the MAF and filter housing? or should i look for a 4" coupler.

wonder what size diameter the MAF is...car is in storage right now so i cant shoot down to measure anything for a few days
