Default Kudos to Vararam ttt

Just thought you ought to know that VR is a vendor dedicated to customer satisfaction. I was not thrilled with the perfromance of my car after the install of the VR, but I wasn't unhappy because I no longer have to worry about Hydro Lock. We got about 2 RWHP but lost about 3 RWTQ. RG at Exit 28 heard about it and notified Patrick at VR and Patrick called me at 8 pm that night to talk about the problem. He quickly determined that I needed more area from my filter and custom built a new one that he is overnighting to me at his expense!! He says that will solve my TQ problem. He also took the time to tell me about the extreme tests they did to challenge the possibility of Hydro Lock. I don't have time to print it all, but it was impressive. I am no longer worried when it rains. I will post the results after I install the new filter.

I am very happy to deal with a company like VaraRam.

I'm glad you got to see one of the reasons why.:):)

Can you elaborate a little bit more about the hydro-lock testing they did and how the VR is worry-free? Inquiring minds would like to know!!!

Did you have one of the first generation air filters or the new style foam race filter?

Did you allow enough drive time for a re-learn?
Thanks

Will he be incorporating this modification into the next version of the vararam, or is this a one off adjustment for your heads/cam car that he will build and ship overnight on a case by case basis?

If possible, let us know the results when you get the modification done.

The Vararam is tunable. Talk to Patrick and he will explain. It has to do with things that I can't articulate. I am just not that technical.
Cheers

I did allow enough time, but Patrick said I needed a more aggressive filter. This guy knows a lot about what makes power.
Thanks

Patrick said that they took two mules and really put them through a lot of wet situations. Ran it on the track in the rain, lots of different situations. Culminating with him taking a car and submerging the nose. No Hydrolock. He was emphatic about how hard it would be to hydrolock with this intake. Give him a call and he will elaborate I am sure.

rfgoss1- do you have the dyno graph on gains/loss from the VR? Were you running another intake before the VR? thanks,

Nate

Nate
I had the MTI True Ram Air. I will post the dyno sheets after I put the new filter in and run it again.
