Default using oil??

If a vette was using oil--wouldnt it show something after driving 200 miles? Dip stick was right at the full mark and still is after 200 miles--some fast stuff and city cruising=

Mine starts dropping around 500-750 miles and I've added a quart by 1500 miles.

Thx for the reply--so maybe drive another few hundred miles and see--if still on full--if it is NO oil usage and nothing on the rear of the car

If your loosing a quart or more at 1000 miles then you have a problem. Visibly inspect the engine for leaks but if you suspect something internal you'll need to looking into compression/leakdown tests. obviously look for smoke from the rear.

just to note for oil my car would go through a quart roughly 2000 miles, that was with mobil 1. I switched to liqui moly and still is more then half above low when it's time to change at 3500 miles. same weight, 5w30. Liqui moly is very popular with german cars. you will need to order it as it's not sold in stores like advance or auto zone.

changing your oil brand is only band aid if you have piston rings that are letting oil past or valve seals which are bad....
