I'm needing to replace he headers on my car they have some war wounds from the previous owner so wanted to know witch is the better pair Kooks or LG motor sports?
looking for overall fitment, Hp gains, durability & etc.
I went back and forth on both myself. I ultimately went with the Kook's 1 7/8's with the off road X. Bought them from Maryland Speed with the free coating. Very easy install that I did myself in a little over 4 hours. I disconnected the fuel line, pulled the coil packs and the dip stick tube and that was it. Both sides went in from the bottom. Not an issue since the March install.
What's currently on the car? You generally need to get matching brand headers and X-pipe. Easiest would be to just get same brand headers so you don't have to mess with getting a new X-pipe as well.
my current x pipe has hollowed out cats so its either or at this point.......
the Hp difference with running cats and with out from what i'm told is less then 10? so i'd rather just run with them its a little embarrassing at time taking my wife out to a nice place and the exhaust smells
Well, I run kooks 1 7/8 and had zero issues with them. Install was a breeze.
If you go that route, I have a kooks high flow catted x pipe for sale with 3k miles on it... Could save you a few hundred bucks over buying it all brand new.
