Options for replacing torque tube?
While replacing the clutch/flywheel on my 97 C5, we found that the input shaft of the torque tube is bent, so we need a replacement.
New from GM is a billion dollars, and LG says they can't get their replacement hardened TT input shaft any more for the older/smaller 97-00 torque tube.
Is my best option to try and find/source a used 01-04 torque tube from somewhere (e.g. somebody parting out a car of whatever), or are there alternative sensible options that we should consider?
Sort of extending on the above, other than the classifieds here on CF, do you folks know of any likely sources (e.g. forum vendors) that are likely to have take-offs or sources for good parts that I can contact to try and source the new parts?
By way of any other suggestions for while-I'm-doing-this, the car is a 97 M6 with a 6.0 LS2 and approx ~525rwhp. road race only (no street use)
Thanks for any thoughts,
-Jake
