Default Under hood light

HI FOLKS, THE LIGHT BULB UNDER MY HOOD IS LOOSE, ONLY BEING HELD

IN PLACE BY TWO [ wire brackets] LIKE THESE. I TRY TO GET IT TO

STAY IN PLACE BUT IT WON'T. JUST BLOWS THE #2 FUSE ON MY 01.

IT'S EVEN HARD TO SEE HOW THE BULB IS SUPPOSED TO SIT.

ANY IDEAS OR OPTIONS? THX

Each of the wires should go over a tab in the light fixture. The tension on the tabs should hold it in place.Unhook the harness in front of the radiator support while you install it to save the fuse.

Once you have it fixed install a $2 switch in one of the two lines to save your battery when you don't need the light. I did this a few weeks ago and it works great.

If I recall mine was disconnected at a plug around the radiator.

There's no need for a switch as it shuts off after 15 minutes.

But every time you open a door, it comes on for another 15 minutes. There is a need for a switch if you don't want the light on, such as car shows, repair shop, etc. Mine's unplugged, because as a light it's pretty useless. I carry a small flashlight in the console.
