Okay, you guys really had me scared with the horror stories about the shake, rattle, and roll associated with the Hurst shifter. I must be one of the lucky ones, because I have no vibration at all...well, at least up to 4k rpm. Didn't really jump on it tonight, but I took it out long enough to know that the 2-3 shift is awesome with this baby! No way can you miss that one.
I took the stops out completely, and left the springs as delivered. There is a little more resistance than I would like going across the gates, but it's really not bad. And...I can always put the softer springs in later if I notice my right arm getting significantly bigger than the left. Based on what I had heard, I thought reverse would be tough to find, but I didn't find that to be true.
Oh...and I already had a MOMO Combat shift ****, so no rattle at all there.
Bottom line...I LOVE THIS SHIFTER!!!! :smash: :smash: :smash:
Congrats! As I have said many times before. My Hurst is installed as it came in the box, even with the stops and I wouldn't change a thing, it is rock solid and precise. I love it!  :smash: :smash:

Congrats! we think its the best shifter on the market today. try the factory settings for a week. i think you will get used to it and not notice the stiffness over stock, but give it time.
I loved my Hurst on my 93 Cobra, how much hassle is it to put one in the Corvette?
I assume the actual mounting is pretty easy, and similar to my past experience, but how hard is it to get the console out of the way and does it go back together nice and clean and TIGHT?
I have come to like my Hurst a lot more over the couple months that I've had it. The effort seems to have lessened some too, even with the softer springs, and it's fun to use.
The only problem I have is that I sometimes hit between 3rd and 5th when shifting to 3rd. I think this is because I have a Lexus SC300 5-speed and drive it daily, so with it's longer throw, I have a tendency to automatically do that instead of the shorter one...going back and forth between the two can be an experience!
Overall, I've come to really enjoy the Hurst...and I have no rattling or vibration at all.
As mentioned above, try Patches' instructions and everything will go fine on the install. It was actually kind of fun and I'm no mechanic by any means.
