After one month with my new exhaust system,I am really elated. My system has either quieted down or its just my imagination. The mufflers have mellowed down and they really are quite pleasant.I also installed aMagna Flow X-pipe.This may be the reason they toned down.If anyone is considering an exhaust system, you mat want to consider this product. The workmanship is outstanding. The polishing of the stainless steel almost makes it a shame to hide under the car.Thank you,Shawn, and the manufacturers at GHL. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
The installation was very easy. The installer removed the stock pipes and installed the entire system in about an hour.My only suggestion is ,cut the muffler clamp ends after the nuts are secured to the clamp. The ends of the clamp potrude quite a long way and drag going into my subterranean parking garage. The tone is great.I vied to install an X-pipe with the muffler installation.just a matter of choice. If you are running a stock exhaust system, you will really hear the difference.I don't know if its my imagination, but it seems I am getting a little better gas mileage.Don't know for sure. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Did the installer have to do any cutting on the stock exhaust to get it off the car? I want to put the GHLs on my '00 A4 coupe, but I also want to keep the stock exhaust parts. I've heard that you have to cut the stock exhaust to get it off the car.
If the installer takes his time, he can fish out the over the axle pipe so you can have it out in one piece. It may be difficult, but it can be done. After you get the GHLs installed, you are going to want to throw the stock exhaust system in the trash!
Shawn...thanks for the info. Of course you already know that I'll be buying the system from you!!! By the way, I had a feeling you were going to say that about the stock system!!!
The Istaller DID NOT have to cut the original exhaust at all.He took his time and twisted them right offwith no problem. The old system went into the dumpster.I didn't have any need for them so they were deep sixed. They sure sound great.Even my lady likes the slight roar. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Thanks for the testimonial. My guess is that you have just gotten used to the sound. I found that to be the case with my PRT's. It is possible that as the get carbon buildup, it could tone down the sound a little.
I'd love to hear a set of GHL's. We need someone in Houston to give them a try.
The system is much lighter then stock.I replaced the X-pipe because I heard it makes the tone of an exhaust system more balanced and the X-pipe does away with the "popping".What ever that is. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
