I used the HIDs from JW Motoring. They are 5000K, 55 watt lights with the harness to let the lows stay on when you switch to the high beams. They really light up the road without blinding the oncoming drivers. The instructions are very good and the install was relatively easy.

How do you know your lights are not blinding the oncoming drivers?
Based on your low beam pic, I'd say they're having to drive with their eyes closed.
Easy to tell when they hit the brakes after your passed.

I use PIAA bulbs. Just a little better than stock. Nothing compare to HID picture above thought. It gives a nice white look as opposed to the kind of yellow stock. I know I do not blind other drivers because, here, the driver coming in the opposite direction will alternate rapidly between high and low beam to notify you. It happens only when if I forget to go from high to low beam.

I also have aca's with 5500k 55w hid's... I sourced my housings and hid kit separately and spent $300 total on the whole setup and they work great... I also installed some leds in the high beams with the harness that keeps the lows on with the highs... I never need the highs when driving those are just used to get someones attention, they are bright as hell from the front but don't seem to do a whole lot for me as far as visibility... I would go with jw motoring if you want to get a complete kit, I originally bought the light cannons from radioflyer and was unimpressed with them especially costing more than twice of what I have in the aca's

I've had the Phillips 9011/9012 HIR bulbs for about a year. They are brighter than silverstars and work well for freeway driving. The HI-4 harness provides excellent vision on high beams. I like the factory look better than the projectors, so if I upgrade I will go with the European housings with glass lenses and 90/130 watt bulbs.

This is meandering off topic, but I saw some pictures of the light cannons installed that only needed the doors partially opened , a more form follows function modern look , to me , at least. And less drag.
Since it is the kind of deal that involves , for most people, some research, I was wondering if you knew anything about a low opening design. I don't see it on the website, but it is/was the most attractive solution , in my opinion. Thanks.

You are referring to the low opening HID light assemblies being sold by JW Motoring. Search "low opening headlights" for more information and/or contact JWM.

Not sensitive to opposition as I have been wrong many times. I just wanted to set the facts out there instead of opinion.
Enjoy the holidays and have a great time driving your Corvette.
P.S. I have been known to be a bit grouchy sometimes, but that is OK as I am old.

Just did this mod earlier this afternoon. Took about 1-1/2 hours - nothing to it. Used clippers to make the cuts - worked great. The light improvement was good for the price - not the full HID mod but you get what you pay for.

I've been nerding out on lights lately and I think your best bet for stock headlight housings would be 9012 low beams and 9011 high beams. HIDs and you'll just blind/annoy other drivers... i hate when others put HIDs in reflector style housings. There are now some decent LED options you could experiment with but they seem a bit hit or miss..the technology is getting much better, but maybe not quite there yet. With enough light/power they probably run in the same issues as HIDs in blinding everyone.
Ultimately a certain type housing is defined with a certain type of bulb in mind.
I am running JWM projector low beams w/ HIDs, for high beams I am running 9011 (9005 basically) halogens. LEDs for fog lights, turn signal, side market etc etc.

IMO, the best LOW COST lighting solution is not to touch the headlights at all, but put a 5000K HID kit in your fog lights and re-aim them to 0 degrees elevation. This will keep from blinding oncoming traffic MOST of the time and provide a substantial improvement in night time illumination.
