I want the battery to be as light as possible
This is just for a track car so I am not asking it to start when temperature is below 60. The car has no more radio, light etc...
I don t need to be on a safe side just to start the engine.
There was just a thread on this. I think it was nukec5. He went with an 11 lb. Braille racing battery from summit racing. Check it out.
Ordered mine yesterday. I currently have a Optima Redtop at 41lbs. The Braille is 11.50. I live in Fl where the cold is 30 max so I will risk it all Alex for a 26.50 lb weight reduction off the FRONT of the car. Will post up results over time.
Thanks guys the 400 CCA is a good number to start with
I look at shorai and found the LFX27L3BS12 at 405A
In fact this battery is for a polaris and We have RZR
As soon as the car is ready I will try the RZR battery and see what it does
If this works this will be a huge weight saving as this lithium battery only weight 3.85lbs

FWIW, I've been running a 300 CCA (365 CA) battery (17#) for several years in my antique 427 (with a C4 PMGR starter). Forty degrees F is the lowest I've tried to start it, and it didn't complain too much.
The lithium battery caught my attention. I keep hearing mixed reviews about running those when they will be charged by an alternator that is "calibrated" to charge lead/acid batteries. Keep us updated on how well the OEM alternator keeps the lithium battery charged.

Yes i find that the shorai lithium i found will only accept a max of 24A for charging
I need to find out how to redduce the charge to max 24A
