Default Fuel door actuator removal writeup? Sticky?

Anyone direct me to a sticky or a writeup how to remove the fuel door actuator? I did a search and all I saw was c6 pics. and not really a good write up .

I found the manual pull wire on my 2000 under the back carpet today and it looks fairly easy but when I looked at the c6 write up it said you had to take off the rear wheel and quarter panel plastic shroud? I don't have that luxury where I live. Is this a simply unscrew it from the inside back carpet and remove the retainer nut in the fuel cap? Or do I have to remove the back wheel and quarter panel shroud to get to the whole thing.

Thanks

PS I am selling this car. I am so over all these break downs. Today my car wouldn't get out of park. 3 days ago flashers quit working. Then again today my fuel door wont open. Last week my shifter cable snapped. Last month pull key wait 10 seconds and car needed to be towed.. UGGGH I do not like my c5

Removal is based on whether you have a convertible, coupe, or hardtop. PM me with your phone number and I can tell you how to do it based on what style car you have. Do not need to pull the wheel and housing if you have a convertible.

Why do you think it is the actuator and not something else?

Before you remove try this : Mine was sticking and wouldn't open. I used the Emergency pull cable to open it, sprayed some WD40, using the extension tube into the Actuator mechanism and it worked like it was new ever since

Thanks for the reply I tried that. It has been sticking for a year. I have to smash my door with my fist to get it to open almost every time. Now it does nothing. I think its dead. I tried wd and lithium grease already

Thanks I will pM you. I am 99% sure its the actuator freezing up. I have to smack the fuel door for it to open most of the time. Now yesterday it is stoned dead no matter how hard I smack it
