My '97 C5 is not well. MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor was replaced, but engine still not performing 100%. Exhaust putting off a strong gasoline smell. Only error code being displayed is the code for the Intake Manifold Sensor. Could that be the reason for the engine performance/sound?
Shot this video (link below) with sound to show you what the engine sounds like.
Video sounds like a misfire, check your spark plug wires and make sure they are snug on both the coil pack and spark plug. Wouldn't hurt to pull a plug and check its condition either. Hopefully it's as simple as that and isn't a broken valve spring
Post the codes as already stated above. I agree it sounds like it's misfiring. It should set a code for that.
How is the oil pressure?
Check the balancer for wobble. Then remove both belts and restart it. If it quiet check the accessories, tensionors and idler pullies.
Definitely a missing cylinder. As mentioned look at codes. Should be a P03xx code in there for a missing cylinder. The tick sound sounds like spark arcing.
