Can i just upgrade to the summit sfi flexplate?..i unbolted the stock one does not seem to come apart...also theres washers between plates on stock one...
paul
When I broke my flex plate last summer I ordered an SFI C5 flex plate from a big brand retailer. At the time, I didn't realize it needed this special adapter. I called and they insisted it was the correct part. I asked how to mate it to the hub adapter and they dismissed me as not knowing anything.
I got the RPM piece (shown above) and it worked perfect.
Now I have a spare SFI flex plate. I'm gonna put it in my buddy's LQ powered 82 corvette.
thats def stronger than the stock one that i never broke..it def puts the clamping force were it needs to be in the center were it would crack if it ever did
How much rwhp did it take to damage the stock flex plate?I am collecting parts now to do a auto conversion to my FRC and I don't know if I need to buy the aftermarket flex plate/coupler. I am looking for any advise! Thanks Dan
