I asked this question earlier but didn't get many responses. Maybe the new topic will generate more opinions. My '01 vert puts down 560 rwhp at 492 pounds of torque. A twin disk performance clutch and Michelin 325 30 19" have been added. Trans and diff are stock. It seems to me that if I switch from the stock 3.42 diff ratio to a built 3.15, I'll be spreading the torque out a little, allowing 1st gear to be a little easier to hook up. Your thoughts please. I know that stickier tires would help but I like the overall
and safety of the Michelins.
Thank you
Dave
I don't think the 3.15's are going to help at all. That's just too much power to hook with conventional tires. Drag radials are your best bet. Be prepared to break things with them. Have you tried dropping the rear tire pressure to about 24 psi? It should help.
I don't know if it's possible to fine tune the traction control to allow some wheel spin and pull just enough power to stop it. I have driven a c6 z06 and when the tires would break loose it felt like the car just laid down. No fun!
