I would like some insurance with respect to oil pressure on startup and in high lateral-G situations.
My 427 motor currently uses a blueprinted LS6 Oil Pump. I called LPE today and was told that they use the same exact setup and the same oil (Mobil 1 15-50wt).
I honestly don't think you are going to find a good oil pump solution that can withstand serious roadracing G-forces. ARE ports the stock ls6 pump and gets great results but I am not so sure it will stand up much better for roadracing G's. I would highly recommend an Accusump for your application, and especially with the cost of your 427ci motor you do not want to be starving it of oil during real hard cornering.
Hey Matt! The G-force situation is only part of the equation. The "check valve" in the LS6 oil pump is prone to failure. I already had one replaced under warranty before my mods.
Looks like I need to stock a blue printed new LS6 oil pump.
