Just finished putting in a Walbro 450 in my 2004 C5. Im sure something is wrong because when I turn the key on, engine off, pressure only climbs to 30 and instantly drops to zero. I can here it prime, as soon as its done priming, the pressure is gone.
I cant start the car right now to see idle pressure, Im putting in a clutch also so the car is in pieces from the headers back. If something is wrong I want to fix it before I put everything back together.

Read my post just went through same thing .But I was able to start it and make sure and it was fine.I put a racetronix pump in mine . It won't hold pressure with key on but fine when it's running.
I received an email from Racetronix that confirms the 450 does indeed have a check valve. So now my question is where should I start to find out why it doesnt hold any pressure after priming, and it only primes to 30psi.
So it never goes higher then 30? Mine will go to 63 then slowly drop to 0 but it'll start right up and drives fine .I double checked all my hoses replaced some and nothing leaking back .I wonder if all there pumps have check valves .
No, it hits 30 on the dot and drops to zero. I may put my plugs and headers on tonight and start it. Wonder if that will be ok without the torque tube attached.
Just thought Id give a little update. I received some info in the C6 FI section that it could be a leaky oring on the filter. Unfortunately I had that apart and may not have sealed up the oring correctly. Ill take it back out this weekend and go through everything again. I hate to go through all that again but Im gonna have too if I want it to be right. Ill let you guys know what I find. Im kinda hoping it is that oring.
Solved. The oring on the filter wasnt seated properly. I put the pump in last night and it primed to 60psi and held. Woke up this morning and its still holding 30. Im happy, time to put the rest of the car together.

Sorry to revive the thread, I'm looking into installing this pump into my 99 C5... Have any install pictures, tips, tricks?

Do not think it will work in earlier C5s. Check with Lonnie's performance if you want to look into high performance for non-FFS cars such as yours. He makes a nice dual pump unit.
