OBD II splitter issue and another issue
the other tech question ... I want to run my car at texas (or another ) mile or 1/2 mile ) about 700+ HP under hood 606 HP at wheels Supercharged 2004 Z06 (also NO2 injected but wont use this for mile runs) anyway , I have a parachute mounted , mostly for shows at this point but it is functional , my question is if I ever use it , or you guys that do use them at Texas mile ( I saw rules that say > 150 MPH which I will definitely be able to do ) do you disconnect the air bags , is it even possible , I have my own reasons for asking and of course full race vehicle dont have airbags (yet) , was just wondering if the sudden deceleration might be enough to set them off ( i am aware of how they are "supposed" to be activated but I have seen air bags go off for trivial contact and i dont want to be punched in the face while I am going over 150MPH :-) , i mean airbag go off for sudden linear decel of > 16mph which this may simulate , just asking , thanks for any help anyone can offer on either or both questions, thanks
Paul
For the airbags, just pull the fuse in the passenger foot well fuse block. I think it is #16. If you want to be extra careful, disconnect the battery for a minute first so that there is no chance an airbag will go off when you pull the fuse.
Fundamentally, the ECM responds to commands on the network, ask it to run the engine and respond to too many monitoring or conflicting commands and something has too give.
Certain devices are extremely dominant on the OBDII network, that is to say they create a tremendous amount of data traffic, making it difficult for other devices to interact.
