Can't get my engine to start. Here's the history and what's been done in an attempt to fix:
1) Car sat for a long time ~9 months starting in July 2013; no fuel stabilizer
2) Finished up some work in March 2014, car started up just fine
3) May 2014 it started acting up - bucking and hesitating
4) August 2014 it acted up again - bucking and hesitating; it finally backfired and stalled out while I was driving. No restart.
5) Drained the fuel tank; refilled with new fuel mixed with stabilizer and fuel system treatment, flushed ~1 gallon of the new fuel through the pump and lines
6) Replaced the fuel filter/pressure regulator assembly
7) Replaced the spark plugs (new ignition wires in March 2014)
8) Sent the fuel injectors out for cleaning; the filter baskets were replaced and the injectors were flow-tested satisfactory (Good spray pattern and 60 lbs/hr average flowrate)
After reinstalling the injectors and intake manifold, along with a new MAP sensor (discovered the old one was broken), the engine still will not start. Fuel pump kicks on and runs same as always. The starter motor engages and rolls the engine...but still no start. I've checked the fuses in the UHEC that could be affecting the start sequence and everything appears to be fine. I checked codes via the DIC and found nothing abnormal.
I'm really not sure where to go next. I'd like to get it running, as I would be able to get a better selling price if everything is running properly.
Ideas, advice, things to look at...any input is welcome.
A guy this week posted a similar problem and it was the ground on drivers side in the rear of vette. Had a loose wire in the grounding connection, this fixed his but his would act like it was going to start but never would. Must have had something to do with ground for his fuel pump system. May not be same for your problem but who knows, can U narrow it down to a fuel or fire failure. Good luck

A ground...wouldn't that be something. Guess it can't hurt to check them. Thanks.
The other guy was ready to drop his tank, he checked his fuel pressure and it was low 10 or so lbs so he narrowed his problem down to a fuel issue. He got it n the air so he could get to the rear ground and wa la, loose wire n the ground connector. Again if u can determine if it is a fuel issue or a fire issue that would really help. Maybe the guys with a lot on knowledge will chime n and there are a lot of them, thankfully.

Mine did this once, and scared the crap out of me! Mine turned out to be the ignition switch. It wouldn't start, and my gauges started flickering and acting weird.
An easier method I use is an inductive timing light if you have one. They just clamp around the plug wire and will fire the light if the ignition/plug are working and firing
Sorry did not see your common on the DIC codes.
Make sure your plugs are good. A friend had only 500 miles on his and could not get the car to start. Engine had been running rich but the plugs looked OK to him. He checked everything including he pulled the plugs to make sure they were firing. In a final attempt he put I new plus. Wala---it fired right up.
Did you get the engine to start?? What did you find??
Haven't been able to work on it in several weeks. I've been on the road for close to a month now. I think the step is to check the ground connection on the driver's side head. Ignition coils and fuel injectors both ground out there. Seems like the most likely culprit...we'll see.
