More Help Please! Re: Cold Air Induction Grilles, How To? (BlackOps)
Thanks for the thread...I was looking for a detailed (pictures) how to on this as I will be installing my Blackwing at the same time and do not want to have any unexpected trouble spots.
Re: More Help Please! Re: Cold Air Induction Grilles, How To? (Biohazard)
The only advice I can give you is remove the headlight bezels and stock airbox before doing the grills. This gives much easier access to get your arms under the front end. It'll take you a while to get the stock grills out because you can't see a thing you're doing. You pretty much have to feel around with a socket until you find the bolts. The second one will be easier because you'll have a better idea of where to feel for the bolts. Take your time and all will go well.

Also, take off the two hood stops. They're those two 2" bolts that have the cone shaped rubber ends to stop the hood. They will get in the way if you leave them on.
Re: Cold Air Induction Grilles, How To? (Biohazard)
RPOZ4Z recently installed his and posted his method (in bold below). Seems like the best I've read so far. 'Course you could always do what I did and pull the bumper cover off when I installed my PIAA fogs and Z06 screens.
First thing, put the up car on ramps.
I started by removing the center section of the air dam (only 2 bolts),
then I removed the 5 screws along the bottom of the radiator shroud, and the two screws on either side.
Now, from the top of the radiator (engine compartment) loosen the hose clamp on the air bridge at the throttle body, unplug the connectors for the IAT and MAF sensors, and remove the whole air intake as one unit.(air bridge and air filter/MAF assy)
Next, remove the 4 bolts for the top of the radiator cover, and remove the cover.
The shroud can then be removed from the bottom of the car.
To remove the driving lights, raise the headlights and remove the cover from around the headlight, then you can easily access the bolt for the driving light bracket.
Take the driving lights out from the top.
you now have easy access to the two screws on the side of driving light/blank covers nearest the center of the car.
the other screw is a little harder to get to, there is enough room to get your hand and a socket wrench in there to un-screw it but it's hard to see.
once all 3 screws are out the blank covers will come right out.
It took me longer to remove the radiator shroud than it took me to actually install the screens!
I started this around 7:30pm last night and finished before 8:30pm and that included putting away the tools and the ramps!
Re: Cold Air Induction Grilles, How To? (Biohazard)
With my 2001 Coupe:
I went in through the top (by removing the headlight trim) to remove the bolt holding the fog light itself. Then I removed the three bolts holding the fog light cover from the bottom.
I would recommend getting the car up on a set of ramps. I removed the center section of the air dam, removed all trim screws attaching the bumper cover to the radiator shroud, and the two screws that attach the shroud to the car (these are parallel to the ground, at each end of the shroud).
Then I moved some of the panels around a bit to allow insertion of my arm. Getting the bumper cover edge, inside the leading edge of the radiator shroud seemed to work best. This creates a potential for scratches, so proceed appropriately.
Of the 3 bolts holding the fog light covers, two are located towards the center of the car (for each unit). It's the third, that is farthest from your reach, and also screws in perpendicular to the ground, that was the most fun. Once the bolts were off, I was able to maneuver the covers around to where I could use some needle nose pliers through the nose of the car, to release the wiring harness attached to each cover (at two points).
With the wire harness released, the fog light covers came back out through the same hole as my arm.

Re: Cold Air Induction Grilles, How To? (Biohazard)
As I was fumbling around to take out the screw on the outside of the grills my hand bumped the duct for the front brake. I pulled the front brake ducts back and had those troublesome little guys out in about a minute with the use of a 1/4" drive and a u joint. Made getting the little guys back in there a lot easier too.
