Hi guys, I’ve been lurking around the forum lately but haven’t posted much in a while. Here’s a good one. I have an ’03 Z with mods and a tune, the battery is one moth old +/-, I don’t drive it every day but it always runs good with no electrical gremlins. Sunday I washed it and went for a drive approx. 30 miles, ran good, no problems. Tonight (Tuesday) I went for a drive, in second or third gear with the headlights on I applied the left turn signal and instantly the engine shut off. Pulled over turned key off, turned key to start, cranked right up. Drove some more, downshifted to 3rd, applied right turn signal the engine shut off, depressed clutch, turned key off then on dumped clutch, cranked right up. Drove some more, used turn signals, no problem. I can’t make it happen. Anyone have any ideas? Any help will be appreciated.
there's a thread somewhere about the ignition switch contacts causing a similar intermittent problem.... apparently it's not uncommon...
the thread shows how to repair rather than replace the switch, I believe it was one of Bill Curlee's threads
good luck!
