Help!
I have a whine in the left rear that is getting louder every week. I have replaced the wheel brg and did not help.
I think the noise might be the tire. Is there anyone in the Central FL area that would be willing to borrow wheels and tires to fit a C5 just for a hour to see if the noise goes away?
The Whine goes up and down with the speed of the wheels and tires. Does not change when in N or braking, Etc.

Seems to me like a wheel brg, tire or rear end brg.

I would think you could eliminate the tires as the source by raising the rear on a lift, put the car in drive and see if you still have the whine. If you do, then it is probably coming from the wheel bearings or diff. Good luck.
If the sound seems to be on the left side as stated, rotate your tires from side to side and see if the sound changes location. Many tires aren't directional and even if they are, it won't hurt them for the short period you're testing them.
