Default Quick clutch story

I had a shop install a clutch wih the hopes of building the car to 6-650 hp.
Salesperson says if we go lightweight flywheel you'll be doing nothing but shifting cause it will review crazily.

Okay, let's go the other way.

Bottom line: I'll be on a cane within a year at this rate unless it lightens up as it wears in.

Best solution and how much will it cost me?

Thanks

If you're looking for a lighter clutch pedal, I've read that the dual disc clutches are better than the single disc. They're also more expensive.

need more info, did you go through with having the clutch installed and which one?... a light flywheel will not necessarily rev like crazy as he put it, it depends how light of a flywheel it is and how much the overall clutch weighs... it won't get any easier but your leg will get used to it

I don't recall seeing that named in the spec sheet but the whole spec sheet is appropriately vague!

John, I wish I'd gone with that lighter one. My other car is an e46 and I can control the revs on that okay.

Neutron, I wish I had driven my Vette to Dallas last week when my aunt had her surgery but I had hoped to make it out to Mickey's lease so I brought the truck. And toys.

The thought of shifting gears when coming off 45 and onto Central made my knee hurt!

I'm looking for a work around on this thing but the problem is no one wants to put parts into an existing job. The mechanic my Vette buddy uses quoted me $600 to install a c7 clutch but I'd have to buy that clutch. Any market for my used 650 torque knee killer?

Thanks for trying to help my dumb ***!

do you have a stock master cylinder or a tick?... if you do have a tick check the bore size, they offer a stock bore master that should return the feel back to the way the stock master feels, but your pressure plate could also be the culprit of your firm pedal... are you able to do the work yourself if you really want to switch clutches?... I have a twin disc and tick master and it was pretty firm when I first installed it, even got a bad cramp in my leg once after making multiple runs in a row but my leg got used to it... it's just working out your left leg haha... if you just had it installed and haven't driven it much I would give it a bit before making the decision to take it out

I'm at about 400 miles towards the 500 for breakin. That's 400 local miles as opposed to 400 highway miles. Whole lots of shifting going on here.

Neutron, if you'll pm me a cell number or email I'll send you a copy of my receipt.
