Highest Caster alignment setting anyone is running??
What is the stock caster setting for a 2000 Coupe?
What is the highest Caster anyone is running here?
Why do you prefer that?
What change did you notice going to that setting?
Just up'd my caster this morning on my new alignment. Will have an idea how I like it by the end of the day.
Re: Highest Caster alignment setting anyone is running?? (MelloYellow)
I had my car aligned to z06 spec last week. We could only get 6.3 degrees caster on the left. Specs I had called for 6.9 degrees plus or minus .50.
The tech suggested that maybe if the car was lowered it would come into spec. We werent sure.
Honestly, I dont know if it made a difference. It was 5.8 before on the left and 6.3 on the right. We also added more negative camber in the front and rear. All of this was after putting on Nitto 555 tires. The car drives so different than with the runflats its hard to give an accurate impression of the camber change.

Thanks Guys!
My car is pretty low and my alignment tech is very good.
He set mine to 7.00 this time around. I think prior to this alignment either the last guys screwed up or whatever and I was around 6.00. 7.00 feels MUCH improved. Better snap back. Feels much more on center.
I think I'd prefer a touch less. Probably 6.8 or so next time around. I did see that the Z06 spec called for 6.9
What are the Standard C5 Coupe alignment specs? Standard Caster??
Here are my current specs if anyone would like to comment. These settings are the best I've driven to date. I recc others change and try diff alignment specs. Changing to the below gave me an even better suspension feel than changing from Z51 shocks to Bilstein Sports. Both changes were very noticeable to me.
My specs this time around:
Caster: Front +7.00 Degrees Rear N/A
Camber: Front -0.70 Degrees Rear -0.60
Toe: Front -0.07 Rear 0.00
Next time around:
Caster: Front +6.80 Degrees Rear N/A
Camber: Front -0.70 Degrees Rear -0.70
Toe: Front -0.04 Rear 0.00
Re: Highest Caster alignment setting anyone is running?? (MelloYellow)
Im runnin:
Caster: Front +6.80
Camber: Front -0.75 Deg. & Rear -0.70
Toe: Front -0.05 Rear -0.01
its kinda twitchy in a straight line, but it corners like an Indy car (ok maybe not that good  but you know what I mean) without a sound from the tires  :yesnod:
Re: Highest Caster alignment setting anyone is running?? (MongoosC5)
Your specs are almost the same as mine.
The twitchyness should be from your toe settings.
Ya, they should turn in a bit better but be slightly twitchy.
I hear that a '0' toe setting is even twitchier tho cuz everything is just zero'd out and gets twitchy following the road. It's better to have them a bit in or out up front regarding twitchyness.
How do you like the 'weight' of the steering wheel and how much effort it takes to turn the wheel and how it snaps back after a turn and letting go on the wheel? Your 6.8 caster sounds perfect.

MelloYellow -
I like the weight very much :yesnod: its not overly difficult to turn, but has a nice firmness to it. when turned and released it snaps back pretty quick, about the same speed as a good shuffle steer

Mine is 6.6 degrees for whatever it's worth :chevy
Re: Highest Caster alignment setting anyone is running?? (MelloYellow)
I had about 7 degrees of caster when the car was new. Then I went to -1.8 degrees camber and the caster fell to about 3.5 degrees. The car become a handful to drive, especially on the highway. DRM knew how to bring the caster back up and maintain neg. camber. They also scaled the car with my weight in the driver's seat. Now the car is much more stable and straightens out real nice. It feels right. :yesnod:
