Am new here on the forum, it is so I bought one
Corvette c5 02 autumn that was, and now during winter storage
I have an intro that drops a little oil (light color) on the passenger side
a bite before the west front wheel feels like it's dripping down the
beam that goes right under the engine,
before winter kept it so I could not see any oil leaks
from the car, I tried to locate where from it leaks but could not find
where it comes from.
is there anyone here who has any idea from where it can leak?
I'm a little suspicious that it could be the steering gear
leaking.
and if it is so that it is steering gear that drops you can beat in a little
Red Line Seal Saver?
Good luck with it man. I have been chasing an oil leak from hell so far I have done the home depot PCV mod thinking it was crappy lines. No help. Oil pressure sender with cowl cut out mod. No help. retorque oil pan. No help. Cam position sender o ring while doing the LS6 valley pan mod. No help. Now going after valve cover gaskets Are you sure its oil? I had a leak off of the front beam and it was the water pump seaping. We have the red antifreeze that looks like oil by the time it runs down the front of the motor and picks up dirt and crud.
If it's leaking off the front beam then the most likely culprits are the front crank seal and/or the timing cover seal. Could also be power steering fluid.
My 03 was leaking down the front onto the beam and blowing back across everything. I feared it was a harmonic balancer seal or pan gasket, tried everything I could to find it. After several cans of brake clean, to dry things out, I finally traced it back to the front end of the drivers side valve cover. It turns out the head had a rough area where the gasket was supposed to seat. I guess it had some chatter when they milled it. Anyway, a new gasket did not stop the leak so I took some 220 wet/dry sand paper and smoothed it out by hand. it only to 10-15 min and the leak has been stopped for almost two years now. In short, check all the gasket seating surfaces.
You mean on the spring? Black and goes side to side.
Could be the power steering pressure hose. They'll leak right through the rubber line. It's hard to see the line and the line has a piece of plastic sleeving over it that hides actually seeing the spot it's leaking from.
