Its not very helpful. You will do better with the Service Manual. It provides the description of what is required to set the code, a brief description of what is being measured and a diagnostic sequence that should be followed.

But for those who don't have a service manual it better then nothing. After all there are people who don't care about getting into the technical aspect of their car but are just curious about the meaning of the codes codes.
