Default T15 Torx Question

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a 2003 TR Z06 and have been loving every minute of ownership. It came with a few issues that I have slowly started working on, such as a squeak near my steering wheel/gauge cluster area, and through the course of Googling noticed that on this picture:

the T15 screws were clearly seen. I tried looking at the cluster in my car and cannot find or feel any screws, even using an extended T15 socket. I'm hoping this could be the cause of the sound I'm hearing, but am I going nuts? And if they are missing, does anyone know the dimensions on the screws themselves (and washers)? I'm hoping this is something the previous owner left out for whatever reason and that I could grab from Home Depot...

Great forum by the way and thanks for taking the time to read.

I just went and looked in my 2004 and can clearly see those 2 screws. Maybe its time for a trip to the hardware store and you could pick up a few small black screws to put in there.

Hey ascastil,

I appreciate you taking a look. I guess I need to try and find replacements now. I stopped by Ace Hardware yesterday afternoon but did not have any luck, so hopefully AutoZone or Lowe's will have better results.

Does anyone happen to know the length or sizing for the two screws in question?

Sorry I don't know the size of the screws but a couple things. First they don't have to be torx head screws. Any screw with the right length and pitch will work fine. Second option is go to a junk yard. I bet they have them.

I would wonder why they are missing. Was the dash taken apart for some reason and the screws not replaced? The squeak may be deeper inside, if they were careless or lazy enough to lose or forget the screws what else did they forget? Or am I just the paranoid type
