Ok so I bought a 1998 corvette, and its installed with an aftermarket radio. I installed brand new tire pressure monitor sensors and bought a new key fob and I cannot program either one of these. My dad has a 1998 which i tested and they worked fine on his, does this have to do with my stereo system? Do I need an adapter or something?
BTW: When I apply the procedure to my vette, it wont say "press ULK LK" Like it does with my dads vette, it just stays blank
Doesn't have anything to do with the stereo. There's a receiver behind the drivers seat. Maybe someone upgraded it to the new style 01-04 receiver for newer fobs and tpms.

Thank you for the quick reply, is there any way i can tell if its been upgraded? And the ulk/LK doesn't even appear when i do the procedure

Sounds more like it's been programmed out. I'm not sure what the symptom would be if the rfa fuse was blown. Maybe find the receiver and measure for power? Maybe the rfa has been removed? It should be above the rear driver's tire behind the driver's seat under the carpet
Well I purchased the car from an auction, so I'm checking to see if its even in the car. If it has been programmed out, can I reprogram it with a GM tech 2?
You cannot program out the TPMS on the 97 -2000 C5's. Only on the 2001 and newer C5's.
I have read about this same symptom on early C5's a couple times here on the Forum and the problem ultimately was a problem in the BCM. Since we don't know if you have the correct TPMS and/or FOB's to match the RFA we really cannot conclude that the BCM is the problem. Can you post pic's of the FOB? That might help.....
He said the fob and tpms work on his dad's 98, so I'm assuming he has the right ones for a stock 98. That's why I asked him to check the rfa. You never know with a used car what has been done to the bcm or any other component
Thanks again for the quick response guys! I located the receiver…or where its supposed to be, turns out there wasn't one in the car. I removed the one off my dads corvette and installed it on mine and every things working! I just need to buy a receiver, thanks for everything 65Gvert and 8Vette7
