so I have a 99 coupe, I did some search but couldnt find much, anyways recently Ive been getting this squeaky noise coming from the right rear when the suspension is flexing at slow speeds, for example going over speed bumps, I kinda have an idea what it could be, sway bars? shock? what should I be looking for, also the car just hit 90k
Typo in the thread subject, its the right rear, not left.

I had a similar issue with mine.Try removing the swaybar bushings and grease them first before you buy shocks. It only takes a few minute's and worked on mine.

Thanks for the reply, Im gonna have to get dirty this weekend and see whats going on down there
those rubber bushings have a split in them so you can take them off the sway bar. Be sure to clean the sway bar as well, as it may have a rust buildup.
When putting the upper bracket bolt in remember you are going into aluminum. NO impact guns and easy turning all the way, or you may be buying an insert kit (ask me how I know).

Thanks for that, I bet I could guess how you know that lol, I've read a few topics that argue putting some silicone on the bushings and some say not to, with the stock bushings is it a good idea to lubricate them?
I used a light coating of wheel bearing grease.Just be sure to wipe off the excess on the outside of the clamp so the road grime doesnt accumulate and cause more problems.

I have used silicone on those bushing for a long time no problem, They are neoprene and compatible with silicone grease.
When you go to hard polymer bushings (not needed for street) then regular chassis lube is fine. The polymer bushings need frequent lube or they will fret and open clearances, so I don't suggest going to them unless you have a reason, like turning it to a dedicated track car.

I have the same sound as you do when driving slowly over irregular surfaces. While looking around for the cause, I found that my rear sway bar was severely corroded and worn. I thought for sure this was the source of the squeak, so I replaced my worn-out sway bar with an Eibach, and replaced factory end links with a set of Moogs. Didn't work.
So I put the car on jackstands and removed both of the rear wheels, and using some bricks and a 2 x 4 for leverage, I moved each rear corner up & down in an attempt to duplicate the sound. I did, and I believe it's coming from my LH shock.
I haven't changed out the shocks yet; still saving up $$, but I'm almost sure that's the cause. If I change the shocks at it's still there, oh well…needed new ones anyway. The search will go on.

Yeah I was in the same boat, been looking around for some new shocks and sways anyways. But when I get to looking around at it this weekend I will hopefully find exactly where it's coming from so I know what to replace first
That sound drove me nuts. Despite checking, loosening and tightening I couldn't seem to locate the damn thing. Finally my son(14) and I went to a mall parking lot after hours and I put him in the trunk of my 01 Vert! Found it! Of all things......the coil over spring had loosened just a smidge, about enough for a sheet of paper to fit. I slight tightening and problem solved. Though yours sound stock, the point is that those suspension components don't need to be real loose to sound like nuts and bolts in the trunk.
mine was the top shock bushing.. . .I had installed a new set of shocks awhile back and everything was fine until a few weeks ago when I too experienced a very annoying squeak from that area. Replaced that bushing with another one I had left over and fixed for now.
