Oil Temp 149
Coolant Temp 165

I am not getting a reading that is of the charts like Estrada was getting but nothing changed between yesterday and this morning besides I cleaned up some grounds, due to getting a C1243 error yesterday. Not sure but I don't think that the oil pressure is really that high.

Any suggestions????

Note to mods: Please change the timeout on the forum...it wiped out my reply relogging in!

64 psi warmed up at idle is high...it sounds like a stuck Oil Pressure Relief valve, as long as you're sure the gauge is accurate...The only thing you can do is change the oil and hope you dislodge whatever is making it stick...worst case will be if you find metal on the magnetic oil plug, then you can start shopping for a new engine...The oil pump and oil pressure relief valve are in the front cover...

Those readings were with the car turned off and only in the accessory position of the ignition. When the car in running now the needle is pegged at eighty and the digital says 130. I purchased the BWD sensor and the socket and plan to tackle replacing the sensor myself, after being quoted $500 from the local Corvette specialist.

Just watch the video, and pay attention to the extra instructions....It's not that hard, just be patient...If you start to get stressed out, take a break...don't drop the new one down there because you will be better off buying a new one than trying to fish it out...A piece of thin copper wire works great and is easy to remove once you get it in...

If you drop the old one, don't worry about it...it will fall out eventually and end up in someones windshield

I got this damn thing replaced. I found a couple of little helpful hints along the way.

I used a strand from an ethernet (Internet) cable (CAT5), stripped down to the copper and wrapped it around the plastic portion of the sensor.

Finish the wrap with the copper against the retaining clip.

Slip the wire, still attached to the sensor, through the socket.

Attach your extension, u-joint, or whatever. Once the sensor is tightened down, simply remove the attachments and slide the socket off of the sensor and unwrap the copper from the sensor using a long screw driver as you pull the wire.

Sorry I could get my phone in the area to take photos with my big fingers in the way.

A big thanks to this forum and it's members, as without, I would have been at the mercy of the mechanics wanting $500 and at least 24 hours without my car. A heart-felt thank you from a new Corvette owner.
