My Superchips Microtuner is being shipped today and I need to know the best way to get to the body control computer. Superchips now has an adaptor to keep the computer from locking up. Apparently, there is a problem with some of the 2000's. They have not printed up any instructions and want to keep my Mictrotuner for a couple of weeks but I really need programming b/c I switched the gears. They told me that they would ship everything to me but I am on my own from there. The guy I talked to thinks the body control computer is located under the carpet on the passenger side. From what he told me, the adaptor plugs into the body control computer. Since I have no idea, I wanted to get some advice before I tackle this job. Thanks in advance.
Re: Where is the body control computer?? (Buckmaster)
Hi Keith,
Yep, I finally got the gears in and they are awesome! I'm not sure if the guy @ Superchips is just referring to the PCM. I'm just relaying all the information that I receive. It sounded like he was referring to a separate unit to plug in the adaptor, but like I said, I am not positive.
I am happy with the customer service from Superchips. I sent my Microtuner that I kept when I sold my 99 Firehawk to Superchips. They received it on Wednesday of this week, programmed it to work on my Vette, and they just put it in the mail today so I will get it Monday. This adaptor issue is the only thing that I am not happy about. Since they haven't printed out any instructions, I have to figure it out myself and of course, call Superchips if I have any trouble. I just wanted to get some advice before I receive it so I do not mess anything up.
I know I only provided a little extra info but if you need to know something specific that I haven't thought up, just let me know.
