I put my money on the RST from McLeod, but am not qualified to give clutch advice.

My buying decision was price sensitive, but I also liked that the company was close enough to support my local industry, and rebuildable.

The thing that put me on to the product was a show on Speed TV that featured a product segment , I forget if it was a new product or what, I was struck by the interview with the product rep, and old Mr. McLeod standing by. Said he had a knack for it and never worked in any other field, a life long clutch guy. He seemed proud to rep a practical product, said his is just plain stuff that works, and I thought it worth noting that the guy with his name on the door made the product .

Then years later, I bought a C5 because it was the only non german convertible sports car I could fit into . It had clutch problems, was out of season and the price was real right because of it. Can' t compare it to anything else, but it is easy to drive on my stocker, modulating with perfect control in every situation.

Daily driver or weekend car? Future plans for more hp? At your present hp level, the LS7 is still a good choice IMO.

When your torque gets in the plus 400tflb area & the motor likes to rev the stock clutch expires quickly. Tried the LS7 clutch & it did not like to shift @ hi rpm, lower the rpm & it will shift. I purchased a Tick adjustable & puked the motor prior to installation. Did not want go the Tick way anyways so I sold it.

I was then sold on RPS carbon twin street lite, it was difficult to drive. Heavy pedal & the L/W made it a challenge for others to drive. That is not what I wanted.

Still like the idea of the twin disc because of the power level I'm at now, by this point I'm clear on the driving style the clutch needs to fit. Near stock pedal pressure, easy to modulate, 50lb area combined flywheel & clutch, clean shift @ Hi Rpm.

Research was sending me the McLeod twin direction RST or the RXT as you mentioned. Then along came the Monster twin conversion from the C7 I thought that would be perfect. I would suggest searching out this forum regarding that clutch there are members happy with it & pay attention to balancing posts should you decide to consider it.

Now I have the McLeod RST, I don't plan to drag race & run aggressive drag tires so there was no requirement for the RXT. This clutch works as advertised, easily hold's my plus 500ftlbs, nice pedal & modulation. I've not really shifted it a lot @ Hi rpm, so far so good. I did zero balance the ***'y & no vibration anywhere.

Hope this helps a little & btw this car only has 12,600 miles total. I started the clutch swaps around 8000 miles, the car has never been drag raced. It's strictly my weekend Mountain highway warrior.

McLeod RST for me. 494 lbft at the wheels. No worries.

I also added the Tick adjustable master cylinder as I really don't mind the slightly higher pedal pressure. I don't even notice it anymore.

The Monster LT1-S drives like stock and will have the longest life of any after market twin. Feel free to shoot me a PM or give us a call if you have any questions.

I am very happy with LT1-S. Smooth engagement & feels like stock. Cannot say the same thing about the Stage 1 twin.

Good luck, it's a big decision because doing it twice is no fun.

I went from Stock to Textralia. Pedal was good, little more than stock but developed an issue in first 1000miles (no racing, just easy street driving). I pulled it off and sent it to Textralia in Texas (at the time) along with pictures, video and measurements. They still have it 3-4 years later, never made contact with me, never responded to emails. I'm glad I didn't wait around for that clutch to come back. I picked up an RPS twin carbon that began slipping at 3000 miles. It went back to RPS and they made it right. It's been in now for 30,000 spirited but not racing miles and I absolutely love it! No slippage. Smooth. And pedal pressure is close to stock. Clutches are a nightmare. Everybody has an opinion on them and there seems to be no shortage of "clutches de jour". I hope I never buy a clutch again, as replacing one cost me two, one of which is in Texas somewhere (or Australia)......but for what it worth that was my experience. I really think they all work fine. It's the guy that puts it in that is important. Andy Green at A&A can take credit for mine.
