Default Drag Radials

I have a 2004 Z-06 With work. the performance shop said the car should be in the low 11's or high 10's. I am currently running a Nitto Invo, Front 275/30/19 rears 305/30/19 Confused on what drag radials to use. I'll be Using them for the street/track, or for just playing around. They don't have to be a nitto, or if they do I have no problem. I'm looking for the car to go straight when you get on it, either on launch, or on a roll. A good sticky compound tire. I have my current tires mounted on CCW wheels. I still have my stock wheels, which are 265/40/17 fronts, and rears 295/35/18 When I decide the tire to go with, with the help of you guys. Could I run my stock (old) wheels, using either the front or rear on the drag radials. I hope I wasn't to confusing?
Thanks.
Bill

I personally have a few sets of wheels depending on race application. I have a CCW drag pack that I run with skinnies in the front and Mickey Thompson Et Streets on the back. Now for most street work I run my 17" front wheels with a Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial 275. I only put them on for racing so they last a few years. If you run them on the street they will wear out fast. With current ET Street Radial offerings you can also use your stock 18" wheels if you want.

What is done to the car, about how much hp, and what clutch?
Ideally you should run a bias ply slick and skinnies up from for the drag strip with a manual. You will learn your setup faster and have more fun launching.
If you don't want to go with skinnies then you should run a good drag radial.
Hoosiers and MT these days are most popular and are most effective for traction if you need it. A lot depends on hp, clutch, and how you plan to launch.
17" drag radials will fit nicely on the front z06 stock rims. You can also get 16" rims to fit with some adjustment to the rear upper control arms.
And as mentioned 18" drag radials will work also if you have the rims already.
Keep in mind it will take a bit of practice to figure out the launch with a traction limited manual c5. Once you figure out the technique you can get any drag radial to work in most conditions. Some may be geared better toward one setup vs another.

if you want to keep a street/strip setup with your ccw's I would either go with nitto nt05r's or mt et street 2's both in 305/35/19... I run the 305/35/19 nt05r's out back and invos up front all the time and I like the setup... if you want to run a drag pack or swap out to smaller rear wheels then that opens up all kinds of tire options, it just depends what you want to do... me personally, I don't want to swap my wheels out all the time plus I have c6z brakes which limits my wheel sizes

Thanks for the reply robz.
I have the stock clutch. Heads and cam, worked stock heads, Vararam, ARH, Fast 92 intake V-Max ported and polished LS2 throttle body H.D. Bilstiens shocks front & rear etc. stock rear. I was thinking about a 3:90 rear. 475 RWHP. I think what your saying I could my old stock front Speedlines in the rear, and my 275/30/19 CCW up front? What size drag radials would you recommend, and what make and model?
Thanks.
