Default Vortex, Halltech, Dual Filter, or Donaldson? I NEED HELP

Just purchased a new torche red coupe on aug 1, 2002 although i have had 3 previous vettes a 92, 97, and 99 this is the first one I will modify. I am looking into air intakes and not sure which is the best. I like the look of the chrome dual filter one and I think with the Z06 grills i ordered would be a nice combo. Plus i like the fact i wont be cutting my shroud to install. I would like some of you experienced modifiers advice on which air intake system is the best.

You'll get more opinions on this question than you can imagine..:):):)

Mine: ALL of the aftermarket intakes product about the same increased HP. Probably not 2-3 HP difference between any of them. But like aftermarket wheels they all look different. If looks are important the Halltech carbon fiber T1C Sidewinder is a first class unit. If price is important, then shop all the units to find out which is the cheapest. Look around on this forum and you will find pictures of every unit available. I would definately narrow your search to the Halltech / Vortex / Blackwing / Vararam.

Good luck in your search!

Blackwing, looks good, cheap, and no problems with water ingestion.

I would probably go with the Donaldson, even though I like the Vortex better, merely because the car is still under warranty from the factory. Would be very easy to switch back to stock! :yesnod:

I just got a 17 hp (dynoed) increase by putting in a Blackwing, power duct and coupler, and taking out the MAF screen. I already had the could air screens and had put in a hood seal to protect the Donaldson. I'm pretty happy with it. I also did a MAF Translator but only got 2 hp from that since the computer had made a pretty good adjustment beforehand.

I like the idea of never worrying about any water injestion. I want to drive and enjoy the car, not worry about it all the time.

The Donaldson is our best seller, 10 to 1.
There is no modifying/ cutting necessary with the unit and it installs in the factory location. You wont be disappointed with the Donaldson...

Blackwing, 200 bucks, along with Stinger exhaust I picked up 27 rwhp 21 ftlbs(0n 2000 C5) Better filtration than Vortex because it is not as exposed. The Vortex however MIGHT have a slight HP advantage

I put the Donaldson on the first day I had my new vert. Great bang for the buck, and I think it looks great.
