Default 2001 Clutch Master Cylinder

Hi all. Exactly 6 days after getting the starter issues resolved on my 01 and driving her, based on what I am seeing on the forum, I have a Clutch Master Cylinder problem. The clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor and will not come up unless I pull it up with my foot. I can barely shift between gears, too.

I am searching for a "how to" on changing the cylinder but I can't seem to find one on the forum. Can anyone provide "how to" on this? Thanks.

Hi all, I'm being advised this problem could be the Clutch Master Cylinder or the Clutch itself. Is there anyway to tell which it could be right off the bat?

Sounds like you have an air pocket in the system. The mastercylinder is easy enough to replace. The trickiest part was disconnecting the m/c from the clutch pedal.

Make sure you bleed all the air out of the system from the bleeder on the slave cylinder.

When compared to changing out the clutch, m/c replacement is an easy fix.

I used a Clutch master cylinder. OEM napa NNC 350108

Ok, it's sticking to the floor to the point that I have to pull up on it by foot most of the time; Sometimes it comes back all the way and other times partial way by itself but most times it stays stuck to the floor. I would think if it were the actual clutch or slave cylinder, it would have acted up before actually going out?

I took a look at the fluid in the cylinder and it's dark black but I could not see any leaks. I had a helper press down on the clutch pedal real slow and the fluid did move.
