A4 to MN6 swap - advice needed
Hi all, I'm embarking on an auto -> manual swap for my '97. I haven't been able to get a clear answer about whether or not I need to swap the PCM or just get my current one re-flashed. Is it a wiring issue?
Also, would like advice on rear end gears: 3.73, 3.90, 4.10? The car is purely for fun; it's a multi-year project that is becoming a bit of a restomod after previous owners didn't care for it well. Will eventually do H/C/I or maybe a blower. I don't care about racing in any kind of way, but I don't want driveability to suffer.

You do not need a new PCM. You will need to find a .bin file for a manual transmission. Then copy your VIN, and engine tune to the new manual trans .bin file.
You will need a transmission wiring harness. You can get one form VetteNuts/Ebay. Be sure you buy a harness that supports all of the options your car has (i.e. F45, etc.)
