Starting question (issue?) 99 coupe
I've found that if I turn the key on and off "THREE TIMES", listening to the fuel pump, and waiting until it stops each time, then the car starts immediately on that third turn.
I replaced the fuel filter/pressure regulator, thinking maybe it was allowing fuel pressure drop-off, but that didn't fix the problem.
I call it my 'anti-theft' trick.
Fuel pump?
No other issues with driving or performance.

Do more searchs. There's plenty more threads.
GM 10448899 There were some availability issues late last year, not sure about now. Several sources show it as available. One of the best prices so far is gmpartseastdotcom
The longer you let this go, the faster the starter will wear out, not tomention all the additional wear and tear on the ignition switch/lock cylinder. PITA to change out. NO, you do not have to drop the tank.
Btw, the FF/PR does not regulate pressure unless the engine is running and it certainly does not prevent drainback when the engine shuts down.
I'd thought the Fuel Filter/Regulator would fix the issue. Replaced that to no avail.
Then thought I was going to end up with replacing a (both?) fuel pumps. UGH.
But this "CHECK VALVE" sounds like the monster in my pudding.
I'm going for it today. YAY!

GTH.
If you're changing it yourself, just be patient. Trying to get the new line installed without kinking or damaging it is half the battle. These nylon fuel lines have SOME flex to them but not much, and this thing lives in a cramped area.
Give a shout back when you get everything done.
