I tried doing a search on this, came up with nothing.
I have a C5Z and I also have a set of 4 Brembo calipers off a 5th gen Camaro sitting around. I assume they wont bolt straight up, but what tweaks would have to be made?
I want to go C6Z route, but since I have these sitting around why not try them?
No 5th gen brembo calibers will not bolt up. They will however bolt up to 4th gen fbody's.
Won't C5 calipers mount up to 4th gen Fbodys? If so, then why wouldn't the 5th gen calipers?
FWIW, I had a Cadillac ATS with Brembo 4-pots on the front. The car came stock with 17" wheels, and I was curious to see if the Brembos would bolt on (so I could run 17" fronts on the C5). I didn't get a chance to take the calipers off the ATS, but I did measure. The mounting hole spacing is the same between the ATS Brembos and stock C5, and the distance from the caliper to the back of the rotor was about 2mm difference, but could possibly work. The ATS brembos should bolt up, and I wonder how much different they are from the 5th gen brembos?
I personally think 4-pot brembos would be great for the C5. It's a light car, and doesn't really need huge calipers. The saved unsprung weight from both the calipers, rotor, and wheel (17 vs 18) would outweigh the loss in stopping power of 4 from 6 piston, IMO.

No. CTS-V2 calipers are the same as C6Z I believe. 6 front and 4 rear.
I already had a set lying around, figured I would see if anyone had knowledge on it. I owned a 13 Camaro SS, it stopped insanely quick for a heavy/huge car. On the C5 it would probably be more than enough brake.
They make a bracket to bolt c5 calipers to 4th gen fbodies.
I wonder if anyone has compared the C6 base and/or Z51 brackets to see if the 5th Gen Brembos will work in those? IF they would than someone in a C5 could simply swap to the appropriate C6 rotors....in theory.
